Abstract


The study is aimed at improving writing ability in writing paragraph in English of PBSI study program STKIP PGRI TRENGGALEK using Peer Review Design. This study employed Classroom Action Research design. The subjects of this study were 25 students of second semester students of PBSI Study Program in the 2013/2014 academic year. From the result of diagnostic test, the mean score of writing was 64.12, and then it increased to 67.68 in cycle 1. In this cycle, no one was categorized as Poor. In cycle 2, the classical mean score was 74. It showed that there was significant improvement. There were three students could reach category Very Good and no one had Poor category. Knowing the criteria of success, the study would be success if it could fullfil two criterias. They were students writing achievement categorized Good and the classical mean score was >70. Based on the questionare, the students gave positif perceptions on the implementation of Peer Review design in writing. It made them more communicative, critical, and creative.
