Abstract


Elementary school learning conditions still have not reached the basic competency standards currently demanded by literacy-based activities which include listening, reading, writing and speaking. Class teachers often use printed teaching materials and have not maximally taught listening skills. In listening learning, teachers often use printed teaching materials that include recitation material, so that the teacher has not practiced listening skills to the fullest. Therefore, a flipbook is needed with a contextual based approach. This research was conducted in Elementary School with 38 research subjects in class V consisting of 21 men and 17 women. The results of this study are (1) the level of flipbook validity from expert validation shows the achievement rate of 84.4% with a high category or with valid and feasible criteria, (2) the level of flipbook implementation reaches 87.7% with a high and feasible category used, (3) the level of flipbook effectiveness reaches a percentage of 89.4% with a high category and is suitable for use. Based on the data above, the products that have been developed are declared valid, have high implementation and have good effectiveness
