Abstract


Portfolio-based learning is a learning innovations that are designed to help students understand the theory in depth through practice-practice empirical study.This learning model used at SDN 1 Munjungan to improve learning IPSThis study aims to improve student achievement in the sixth grade social studies on the subject of Know Continent in the first semester and to improve students' learning activities in the sixth grade social studies on the subject of Know Continent in the first semester of the school year 2013/2014 at SDN 1 Munjungan Subdistrict Munjungan Trenggalek? Student achievement in learning-based portfolio of 19 students with the results of the first cycle average of 64.21%, while in the second cycle on average amounted to 83.15% increased by 18.94% From the results of the first cycle to the second cycle showed significant increase learning achievement. Student achievement based students work in groups that form a portfolio of documentation report on the first cycle an average score of 62.49% and Cycle II, the average score of 93.75, which means an increase of 31.26%. This increase demonstrated their activeness of students in the group. While the students' work in the form of portfolio presentation from each group of the first cycle an average score of 65% and cycle II, the average score of 91%, which means an increase of 26%.
