Abstract


The purpose of this research is to know influence, describe, and describe applying of contextual approach to activity and result of student learning. The method used in this research is Quantitative type of quasi experiment. The instruments used are questionnaires, observation sheets, and test sheets. The result of this research is contextual approach have influence to activity and result of student learning. There are differences in activity and learning outcomes before and after the application of a contextual approach in the learning process. The implications of applying contextual approaches in the learning process are not only in activities and learning outcomes, but contextual approaches can generate students' interest to learn from the real environment, build their own knowledge, and find and solve problems related to learning
